A former Libyan intelligence operative accused of preparing the bomb that brought down Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988 was taken into US custody after being abducted from his home by a notorious warlord and then detained by armed militia for two weeks, the Guardian has been told.

The US Department of Justice announced it had custody of Masud at the weekend, but gave no details of how he had arrived in the US.

Officials with knowledge of the case in Libya told the Guardian that Masud was seized at his home in the capital’s Abu Salem neighbourhood by forces loyal to Abdel Ghani al-Kikili, known as “Gheniwa”, who commands the Stability Support Authority (SSA) of the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity.

《每日郵報》報導，39歲的莎拉2020年10月10日向警方報案，指自己的16歲女兒蒂芙德於紐頓（Newtown）家中身亡，檢警調查後發現，蒂芙德死於「肥胖引發的多項併發症」；包含腦積水、皮膚大面積發炎、潰瘍感染等，認定死因不單純，應是「非自然死亡。」

檢警掌握證據後表示，莎拉與44歲的丈夫阿倫（Alun Titford）自同年3月起，利用「不健康飲食」導致女兒肥胖，未讓女兒保持規律運動習慣，也未維持家中環境清潔，未盡妥善照顧責任，並做出明顯將導致死亡的行為，將兩人以「過失殺人罪」起訴。
