Dwyane Wade on the difference between the All Star game when he played vs Now
and the story of him breaking Kobe’s nose

“It’s not just about the game anymore, if you know the schedule of All Star
guys now vs then, it’s about the business. It’s not about the game anymore.
But I’ll say this, when I came in, the stars of the game would determine how
the game went. Kobe Bryant, brought it every All Star. So Me as a young guy
having guard Kobe, he would be at my ass. I gotta lock up. It was different.
Not saying LeBron at 40 should be the one but when we came in, the stars
determined how the game would go by what they brought. I’m just following
suite because I’m a young fella happy to be here but I don’t want to get
embarrassed by Kobe Bryant… When I came in Kobe set the tone for the All
Star game, Kobe would be ready to bust your ass. That All Star game, Kobe was
f*cking me up on the other end, hittin me, pinching me. I lose myself a
little bit im like ‘oh this what we doing?’ So im like ‘get the ball,
cause im f*cking you up.’ I don’t try to bust his nose but I did try to
foul the sh*t out of him”
