No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama, has officially expressed
his intention to join the French national team for the upcoming Olympic Games
in Paris.

斑馬正式宣布自己有強烈意願代表法國參加2024的巴黎奧運


"Succeeding in the Olympics would be a great story. And there will be no goal
other than gold. Of course, I will be present at the Olympics," Wembanyama
confidently stated via L'Equipe.

斑馬在法國隊報的訪問中表示：在奧運取得成功是偉大的，而且目標就是金牌，
所以當然我會參加奧運


"I watched the FIBA World Cup, and the result was very disappointing.
However, I am not worried. I have no judgment to make; I was not on the team,
and it is in the hands of top-level players. I feel that this does not alter
the opportunity to do something big in Paris next year," the San Antonio
Spurs big man added.

斑馬說道：我看了今年的世界盃，當然令人失望，但我並不擔心，
我沒資格說什麼，因為我不在那支球隊，球隊還有其他高階球員，
所以我認為這並不影響明年我們在巴黎奧運的機會



Wembanyama's absence from the recently concluded FIBA Basketball World Cup
2023 was a conscious decision made after consulting with his closest
advisors, the medical team, and several members of the French national team's
leadership.

斑馬由於醫療團隊以及法國隊部分人士的建議，並沒有參加今年的FIBA世界盃


"It would not be realistic in terms of development and not careful in terms
of health," Wembanyama explained in an interview with L'Equipe in late June.
"I hope people will understand. It's frustrating for me too. The France team
is still my focus. I want to win as many titles as possible with it. But I
think it's a necessary sacrifice."

斑馬說：在生涯發展中，完全不在乎健康是不現實的，希望人們了解，
我也很戰戰兢兢，法國隊仍是我奮鬥的目標，希望可以幫法國多贏幾座冠軍


Wemby made his French NT debut last November during the FIBA World Cup
European Qualifiers. He competed in four games for France, averaging 19.0
points, 8.3 rebounds, and 22.5 EFF per contest.

斑馬曾經在去年11月代表法國參加世界盃歐洲區資格賽，4場比賽平均19分，8.3籃板
