The Angels have played under the L.A. name for 20 years. In 2019 negotiations fo
r a stadium deal, Anaheim asked the team to revert to the Anaheim name. The Ange
ls declined.

In any new negotiations, Anaheim mayor Ashleigh Aitken says she’ll pursue that
issue:
