                外國的教育可能比較全方位還有講求興趣吧,還有外國人很愛運動

非常強調團隊合作和健康的生活,聽說美國小孩假日是被父母帶去打球和運動?

華裔的小孩大多是在家裡乖乖念書,不然實在難以想像他們可以轉這麼大又做這麼好

  八卦是  法國科學巨人Henri  Poincare去世那天,他在火車上還是哪裡得知這個消息

 非常難過,霎時他覺得法國的科學完蛋了><

2.弦論的教皇  Edward Witten 普林斯頓高研院的教授

  這個人就不用說了,變態中的變態,老爸是著名的廣義相對論學家,大學念歷史,然後

  也唸過經濟,然後也當過記者,也曾經熱衷政治和選舉,可惜他都表現很平凡

  後來突然想開了,數學和物理才是他的天下,直接念普林斯頓研究所數學後來轉物理,

  然後不小心得了費爾茲獎,然後掀起弦論第二次革命

  反正當今公認物理和數學成就最強的就是他了,只是他很低調

3.Andrew Strominger

  哈佛物理教授,著名弦論學家,跟Edward Witten和丘成桐合作做出很多東西

  我知道他好像也在香港當過新聞記者,而且據說會說流利的中文,娶中國太太?

  我發現他竟然只是Rutgers的faculty 而不是Professor><,美國要搶教職有這麼恐怖嗎?

  他是2010的Onsager Prizer,而且是算是知名的弦論學家

5.雷射的先驅Townes,諾貝爾獎得主

  大學念Furman University的文學博士,碩士念美術輔系物理,以極優異成績畢業

後來去Duke大學(當時不怎樣)做Maser,後來去念Caltech做原子核,後來二戰才回去Bell

lab做雷達跟雷射稍微相關的東西,他運動和社團超活躍

Townes was born in Greenville, South Carolina on July 28, 1915, the son of

Henry Keith Townes, an attorney, and Ellen (Hard) Townes.

       He attended the Greenville public schools and then Furman University in

Greenville, where he completed the requirements for the Bachelor of Science

degree in Physics and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages,

graduating summa cum laude in 1935, at the age of 19. Physics had fascinated

him since his first course in the subject during his sophomore year in college

because of its "beautifully logical structure".

He was also interested in natural history while at Furman, serving as curator

of the museum, and working during the summers as collector for Furman's

biology camp. In addition, he was busy with other activities,

including the swimming team, the college newspaper and the football band.
