: (Triple-A/New York Yankees) right-hander Chien-Ming Wang had been named the
: league’s Pitcher of the Week for May 27-June 2. He is the third RailRider to
: receive a weekly honor, joining pitcher Vidal Nuno (April 15-21) and
: outfielder Zoilo Almonte (April 29-May 5). Durham outfielder Wil Myers took
: Batter of the Week accolades.




: Wang went 2-0 on the week with no runs allowed and held the circuit to a .167
: batting average while walking just three over his 14.0 innings pitched. His
: first outing came against the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore Orioles) on May 27. He
: tossed seven scoreless innings at Norfolk’s Harbor Park en route to the team
: ’s fourth shutout win of the year. Wang limited the Tides to just two hits
: and issued two walks.



: His excellence continued when SWB traveled to Durham (Tampa Bay Rays). The
: Bulls entered his start on June 1 as one of the hottest teams in the
: International League with a season-high five-game winning streak. Wang shut
: down the potent Durham offense and hurled seven more scoreless frames. He
: scattered six hits and handed out only one walk.
