Could Klay Thompson be talked into leaving Warriors for L.A.?
K湯有可能被PG說動離開勇士去湖人嗎?

Klay Thompson is one of just five Golden State Warriors who isn’t a free
agent this summer, but even he is reportedly being recruited to leave the
world champions.

Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George, like Thompson a native of Los Angeles,
has reached out to try to convince the Warriors’ star to join him with the
Lakers in two years. Thompson has two years left on his 4-year, $69 million
deal, which means he’d be a free agent in the summer of 2019.


However, the Warriors hold Thompson’s Bird rights and no doubt have every
intention of keeping their star two-way guard.

“He’s (George) definitely put in a call to Klay Thompson, and obviously he
feels like Klay Thompson is a guy that he would love to play with on the
Lakers,” NBA Sports Bay Area analyst Kelenna Azubuike said during an
interview on 95.7 The Game Tuesday morning. “Now, for all we know, Klay
could have said, ‘Buzz off, I’m staying with the Warriors.’ It doesn’t
really mean much that he put in a call.


“They probably had a nice conversation. Maybe they even talked about
something other than basketball, and didn’t talk about basketball at all.
Who knows. It doesn’t really mean much, but he’s definitely put in calls to
Klay Thompson; he’s talked to LeBron James and he’s trying to see if he can
figure out who can come with him to the Lakers.”

George, who was teammates with Thompson on the gold-medal winning Team USA
basketball team, has warned the Pacers about his plan to play out his
contract next season, become a free agent and sign with his hometown Lakers.
PG跟K湯在美國夢幻籃球隊曾經是隊友，一起拿到金牌，他也跟溜馬說，打完這季就會離開
，然後明年會跟湖人簽約。

George is trying to sell Thompson on the idea of building a super team in
L.A., with rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, center Brook Lopez and, possibly,
James. Still, it would seem George has a tough task convincing Thompson to
leave what he’s helped build in Oakland.


“At the end of the day, I’ve tasted winning,” Thompson told our Marcus
Thompson during the Warriors’ championship parade two weeks ago. “No stats
can ever overcome that. I’d rather win these championships and score no
points than have 60-point games and 37-point quarters. These championships
are everything to me…


“It’s so much more to being part of a team and being part of something
special. You can build a legacy.”
