With Al Horford having yet to decide whether he was going to re-sign with the
franchise or not, the Atlanta Hawks, if only for a short period of time,
tossed around the idea of trading All-Star power forward Paul Millsap.

Two teams Atlanta discussed deals with were the Toronto Raptors and Houston
Rockets, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns were also reportedly in the mix, with
Denver offering a package comprised of players and picks, including starter
Kenneth Faried.

Horford ultimately elected to take his talents to the Boston Celtics on a max
contract worth $113 million over four years, which reportedly stemmed from
his disinterest in teaming with Dwight Howard in Atlanta's frontcourt.

Millsap, 31, is one of the more well-rounded bigs in the NBA today, pairing a

averaged 17.1 points, nine rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks
last season for the 48-34 Hawks, and was the only player in the league to
finish in the top-12 in both steals and rejections.



The Raptors have a giant hole at the four spot that Millsap could have easily
filled. Despite winning 56 games last season with Luis Scola, the Eastern
Conference finalists need an upgrade to pair with Jonas Valanciunas, and
preferably one who can stretch the floor like Millsap can.



Houston locked up some new blood at power forward themselves, coming to terms
on a reported four-year, $80-million deal with Ryan Anderson.
