The pictures on this page were originally sent to me in a
PowerPoint. Rather than forwarding that email and that PowerPoint
file to a few friends, I extracted the pictures and posted them on
this page on my website, www.markdaviesmedia.com. I then sent an
email to a few friends containing a link to the page
www.markdaviesmedia.com/cold. That was in late December, 2005.
That link has been sent, forwarded, and resent quite a bit. At one
point, I was getting over 40,000 hits per day on this page.
Click here for more about this storm and these pictures from
Snopes.
I also recieved this email in late January, 2006:
I was directed to your link -
http://www.markdaviesmedia.com/cold.htm - by my brother. Having
lived in and visited Switzerland since the late 1980s, I bring to
your attention the following ...
There is no town in Switzerland named Geneva City. In English it
is either Geneva or the city of Geneva. In French, it is Geneve.
The lake is not known as Leman Lake, it is either called Lac Leman
(in French) or Lake Geneva (in English).
Other than that, it does make a person homesick.
